Sounds like "classic" RFI to me. I would suspect the keyboard or the
maybe the mouse.
I dunno. I was on my T41 laptop with my FT-817 transmitting at a
mighty 1 to 1.5 Watts. After I backspaced a bit it finally accepted
the shifted character and never acted up again. RFI *should* have been
more consistent in my experience.

I have tried banging away at the keyboard for several minutes and cannot
cause the described behavior. Was this mode specific? Was the transmit
buffer very full? Did this occur on Ubuntu 9.10 on both Al's and Nate's
experience?
Anyone else experience this behavior?
