Yes, for the next alpha as development continues. I don't know any programmers who are satisfied with leaving well enough alone. There is always an idea for a new feature or something done better. ;-) With the growth of SDR the soundcard is going to go away as the "radio" will provide a bitstream of IF samples. Right now these are handled through some sort of interprocess communications that require the radio and CODEC to run as tasks under the same OS. In the future those bitstreams will travel across the network allowing functions to be distributed across multiple machines.
