Ok, I can confirm the observation of the vertical distortion --- the image is being received as too narrow, considering that every line is being displayed. Or else it should be skipping lines vertically at this horizontal display ratio - you can look at it either way. :)
Is there a displayed width control anywhere? Or is this hard-coded at present? Also -- I *think* the line rate reset itself to 120.000 at the start of a second fax... that it definitely should not do, although with the way it is implemented, no permanent harm is done. As I mentioned earlier, this setting is unlikely to actually be adjusting to compensate for the received signal; it's probably compensating for the computer's absolute frequency error, or a combination of the two.
