Fldigi from binaries or source compiled, the same result...
fldigi version tested: from 3.13BW to actual stable 3.20.12...
PS: the show tool tips on mouse over feature work as espected...

I found that once I checked the Autofill Country box and saved it, I had
to close and restart fldigi. It did ask if I wanted to save the changes
at exit and I answered yes. Then it worked as expected.
Make sure the cty.dat file is in ~/.fldigi
