There is another similar problem. In Unity the dialog windows don't appear. Submenus (flyouts from mode menu) will work once, then not again, until you get a different one to work, then that one is the broken one.
I tried the various workarounds lited on the ubuntu boards and they didn't help? UNR in Ubuntu 10 didn't have this problem even though it still had maximus for maximizing windows. Starting with gnome instead of unity works FB. Leigh/WA5ZNU
