Some interesting observation of TX Atten settings by band with the
TS-590S under Mac OS X 10.6.7.

I used the FB keyboard shortcuts to tweak in each setting in the PSK or RTTY
portion of the bands. I try to have no more that one bar flashing in in the
ALC position on the TS-590's S-Meter. I know 'they say' zero ALC but when
nothing shows on meter you may be too low. This is why I tune display on
bar flashing.

 7.035 MHz = -12.1
10.143 MHz = -13.8
14.085 MHz = -11.3
18.103 MHz = -12.2
21.070 MHz = -11.7
28.120 MHz = -12.0
50.300 MHz = -10.7

I really like the new addition and the keyboard shortcuts are useful and used.

I wonder what attenuation levels others are requiring to adjust out the ALC?

By using the new TX Atten tool I am now able to use the TS-590's default
setting
of Step #4 for Input Data. Before having the tool Step #2 was too low and
Step #3 was too high and I had little on no wiggle room on OS X Sound/Output
volume slider. It was near the stop on the left of side of the slider. It is now
sitting at about 25% with good wiggle room.

The TX Atten is a winner!
