In the past I have suggested to add this feature to dave in this list, but unfortunately I have not the C/C++ programming skills to do it my self.
Never heard about the software you mention, but Thomas Sailer (the one from soundmodem for packet radio) has one software with SITOR and other WX/commercial modes on it, and it is at least open source as I remember.
It is called HF (if my mind not fail), but the code is not working on the actual ubuntu.. it is an old software, but maybe worth the work to search the code, maybe you found a usefull clue there.
