What I think: - folder name: "Apache Flex" Further nesting to a folder "Utilities" is unnecessary, since we don't have any "production" applications (like for instance Flash Builder, or Flash), and most likely never will release any. All of our apps will most likely stay "utilities"; applications you only use once in a while. So "Apache Flex" as a root seems sufficient to me as long as we don't have to distinguish "types" of apps, but: a subfolder underneath the "applications/program files" folder is necessary because I think only apps I use on a every day basis should be in the root "Application" folder on my Mac. The "bulk" applications that are mere utils, should be contained in a subfolder.
- a desktop and taskbar shortcut seems irrelevant as wel, since it is very unlikely that people will use this app on a every day basis. So I would say: just a "clean" installation: an intuitive name I can easily find when using "spotlight" on my mac, but not too visible/in-your-face installed because I'm not going to use this app every day. This will definitely make it look a lot more professional allready :). Right?
