Maybe there might be a way to honour the scope of a parent POM if one isn't
provided? I've only been working with maven for a couple of weeks, so I'm
not sure if this is realistic inheritance.

Subject: Re: [flex-mojos] Externalizing flex-framework

Provided is a java scope and it has nothing to do with external... well may
be something... but still java thing. For flex use merged, internal,
external, rsl, caching and test.

May be on maven 3.1 we will deal with that differently, but for now there
is no alternative :(

Hey all,

I'm trying to externalize the flex-framework libraries in a SWC project that
will be loaded into a parent SWF project (which will have them compiled in).

I've checked out the following 2 links, but haven't found what I'm looking
for:

> &q=scope+external+OR+provided+#5ccbfb0a58696208

https://docs.sonatype.org/display/FLEXMOJOS/Adding+libraries+to+compilation

A SWC dependency with an external scope works just fine with flexmojos, but
if you have a POM dependency with a provided scope, it doesn't get included
at all. Theoretically, "provided" and "external" are equivalent. Is this a
bug or is there another proper way to do this? (i.e. not manually
re-mapping every flex-framework swc dependency as external in a super-pom).
