Well, my major concern is the repo availability.... for instance... I have a local nexus... so I have a repository like: http://192.168.1.5:8081/nexus/content/groups/all/
Obviously this won't be accessible by someone outside my local network.... so that is a problem we need to deal with. other then that, I'm fine. But if you decide go down that way, maven artifacts do offer md5, sha1 and asc signatures that you could also validate to be sure the artifact is valid....
