Two reasons:

1. If you exec'd "foo bar" why say you exec'd "foo - bar"?

2. In Unix, a - on the command line means "instead of reading from/
writing to the file argument that usually goes in here, instead read
from/write to stdin/stdout". I thought the - was part of the command
line, and that threw me off the real problem (which I now suspect is
the lack of fonts installed on the system).
