unfortunately, that's life in the big city. until flex gets hooked up to some 
real locale resource data, it all has to be 3rd party. unless, of course, 
somebody ports core java or icu4j (it uses the Common Locale Data Repository 
for 
it's locale data) to flex--but flex's rb implementation isn't standard either 
(utf-8 vs java's escaped unicode), which makes that a bit more of a pain. feels 
a bit like cf3 ;-)
