While FB does have RDS capability, I found it extremely limited. You can save a week of pulling your hair out and make sure you can map a drive letter to the VM server and navigate it to the web root. Then you can do regular projects in FB and it all goes smooth. No need to be on same machine, but FB wants things in the same (windows) filesystem. The reason I was pulling my hair out is because I develop CF on a linux server because I integrated my app with a slew of security tools. But now with samba running on the Linux server I can make a project with the X: drive mapped to my linux webroot. Works like a charm.

I'm building my new box and I have just installed my brand new, fully licensed copy of Flex Builder and I have a question involving the cold fusion connecter pieces. A big part of the new box is that it comes with VMware. The idea is that I will be running virtual servers so that I can play with different server configurations as desired. My first thought is that I will create a ColdFusion virtual server for most of my development. How would this play with my Flex Builder and more interestingly the ColdFusion connecter piece. When the requirements say you need Builder and ColdFusion, does that mean they need to be on the same "box"? -------------- Ian Skinner Web Programmer BloodSource www.BloodSource.org Sacramento, CA --------- | 1 | | --------- Binary Sudoku | | | --------- "C code.
