No, it should go to the messaging-config.xml inside FDS. CF Remoting goes to the services-config.xml CF Data Management destinations and CF Messaging Destinations go to data-management-config.xml and messaging-config.xml inside FDS. There is an issue if you try to compile a mix of this so one solution is to compile against the fds config file and then define at runtime a new channelset for the remote objects.
