Stephan, you can still use that approach, if you take a look into the mx.messaging.* and mx.rpc.* source code( they are now available ), it's what happening in fact in the background. When you define a services-config.xml in your arguments, what the compiler does is to hardcode those endpoint definitions based on the target destination.
