Hi Everyone, As somewhat of a tradition on this list, I like to mark landmarks and celebrate our growth .. today we crossed another landmark of 2000 members. Yay !!
I joined this list back in 2006 and since then this list has become a part of my everyday life, although I haven't been answering many questions lately I still spend time reading and moderating messages everyday ... back when I joined we had less than 50 members .. early on, there were very few discussions but things were picking up .. in March 07 we had the very first flex community meeting http://weblog.mrinalwadhwa.com/2007/03/11/flex-india-user-community-the-seeds-have-been-sown/ Here's an amusing quote from my post about the meeting .. "It was quite an exciting experience for me especially so as until today I had never met another Flex developer in person." Yeah, this was the time when absolutely no one in India had heard of Flex :) By mid 2007 things started picking up as you can see in the email I sent when we hit 300 members http://bit.ly/dGYdP Since then the growth of the group has been exponential .. we hit 1000 member in March this year and while the first 1000 people came in almost 2 years .. the next 1000 have come in just 7 months .. amazing !! Not only have we grown in numbers .. the list has also grown in the number and quality of discussions .. which signifies the maturity the flex community in India is attaining. So let me take a moment to thank Manish Jethani for starting the list and all the people who have contributed to this list over time http://groups.google.com/group/flex_india/about This is an awesome community and I love being a part of it.
