You can use legendMarkerRenderer property of legend item as i did in
the following snippet.
<mx:LegendItem label="Triangle" fontWeight="bold" height="250"
width="250"
legendMarkerRenderer="mx.charts.renderers.TriangleItemRenderer"/>
