Can you elaborate on the requirements, do you want a multi one-to-one chatsystem or just two people chat system. Can it be server based or you want a server-less system. What else are you looking at? I created a commerical group chat server-client system which was written in C++ using sockets but I guess I can help you answer your questions provided you give more details.
