Hi Guys, Very happy to share with you the idea and the conversation from Yash Mody to resolve the problem posted above.
The idea is to invoke an AIR application(.exe) on the server side which loads the charts and generate snapshots of them. Its basically easier to invoke an AIR app. you will have to encapuslate flashapp you create into an exe and handling local resources is seamless. Here follows the conversation and many thanks to Yash Mody. Thanks, Ram Conversation(starting earliest conversation):-- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great. I am happy that it worked for you. You can probably share it with the rest of the community. You can fetch the realtime data by creating a text document on the fly which will contain some session identifier. The system can read the text file on loading and use the information to get realtime data. Thanks a lot for this brilliant idea. I passed on the idea to my senior colleagues and they got a sample AIR app being invoked and the images of charts generated. Getting the authentication when trying get to real data by passing request to server on load is the only pending issue I think and they would soon be sorting it out. Thank you, Ram Manoj. Let me know if it works. Yash On Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 11:17 AM, Ram Manoj Kongara <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Yash, Thanks a lot for your idea. I will try it out, and looks seemingly a possible solution. One thing I am not sure is how instantiating an AIR app is different from instantiating a flash player at the server end, in resolving the problem here. Again thanks for your idea. Ram. Create an AIR application which will read all the data files as soon as it starts and create charts. Once the chart is created they can be saved in a folder with a specific name. If you are running a windows server you can either schedule a task or invoke an AIR app or launch it from some other app. I am not sure if it suits what you need.
