In simple terms- Whenever a page gets loaded in browser, before getting loaded, the ManagerLayout defines the x-y coordinates for each and every component-container. Now while doing all this....flex-apps go thru with a cycle-> -preIntialize() -> Occurs firstmost/intially to app-intialize, just when component is attached to container. -intialize() -> When components are get intialized...or componetns get into existence, but not layed on ur app-window -updateComplete()-> Occurs each time, if and in-case your component is drawn again in the app-window. .....i tried to give a small-idea abt ur query. Read livedocs for more details.
