Few things come to my mind: (1) Perception issue: Folks still think you cannot develop a "serious" application (not talking AIR here) with flex. From experience, I can say it is a load of rubbish! You certainly can develop serious application for the web and do it quickly. Another nice thing is you do not have to bother too much about browser versions etc which you would have to if you are getting into html/javascript. (2) Flex builder is not free! :) Personally, I find it annoying that I have to pay for flex builder. Adobe stands to gain a lot more by giving it free and enabling easier adoption. Of course, hardcore developers can get by using vi but we need to make things easier. (3) I am not thrilled out of my head about the charting package. Functionality is great but I wish by default it would look better. You really have to play around with colors to get it just right! (4) If you build something in flex, don't expect it to work on mobile devices. I have a Nokia N96 and my app wont load on it. This is a BIG problem. Prepare to have a html version of your app just to support mobile. (5) There aren't too many 3rd party vendors selling components that enhance the default offering. You really have to search for it. The non-commercial offering I like is flexlib (google?)
Other than the few nits listed, I have no complaints!
