1. CairngormEvent is specific to Cairngorm framework, so all kind of fun you
get with Cairngorm, will 'actually be a fun' only if u play with
CairngormEvent. For instance, if you want to map an event with a command
inside the controller, you can do it only with a CairngormEvent (since
Command and Controller are Cairngorm-specific entities). In an enterprise
application, you always have a top-level framework and an application level
framework. Cairngorm basically can help you in building the top-level
framework, but for application-specific stuff, you need some kind of
non-cairngorm events, which you can use to some simple stuff like - passing
values between components, sending a notification for any user gesture, etc.
This can be done by Flex Events/Custom Events.

Also, when dispatching events from components, try dispatching a Custom /
Flex event. This makes sure that the component is loosely coupled.

There is also a syntax difference between them, when you dispatch the event.

2. Try using ASyncToken, while making service calls. This helps you in
tracking the result. (Let me know if you require any code/samples for this).
You can also dispatch events on getting results. Add an listener for the
events, and you can know the dispatcher.

3. ???????????????

4. HTTPService and WebServices- both gets you data from any backend. There
are many reasons as to why one should go for HTTPService or WebService. For
a general case, Google would be able to help u out more. You can post a
specific use-case, for which you can ask this question.

5. ??????????????? :)

Hope this helps.. (Not the question marks for sure.. ;))
