Am not fully convinced that all 4 responses are received sequentially by RO. How much data is sent and received in each call. Is it substantial? maybe marshalling/unmarshalling is taking so much time. Capture precise time using time stamps in trace statements.
Is AMF channel available? it should be much faster than http. BTW, RemoteObjects don't require too much resources to create.
