Use setStyle in your click handler or load handler as shown below --
button.setStyle("paddingLeft", value);
button.setStyle("paddingRight", value);
button.setStyle("paddingTop", value);
button.setStyle("paddingBottom", value);
button.setStyle("horizontalGap", value);
