Hmm, I thought it would have shrunk it
down but who knows, I’m not much of a UI coder J Are you using the icon
property for this or your own renderer?
As far as the guestimated amount, this the
point of the sampleItem property. Specify a sample item and the List will get
the preferred size of that cell and set itemWidth/itemHeight accordingly.
Not sure what you’re referring to
with the __Reference part, but you can certainly write a labelFunction or pick
a labelField that does something different.
Based on that, add whatever you want to
the wishlist J

Suggestions Part 2
It seems images loaded into the TileList that are larder than the set
itemWidth and itemHeight tick it off...
I'm not sure how your writing the cellRenderer for
this object, but frankly,
I'd "expect" it to take the 100 x 100
pixels I give it, and make both the
image and label fit, respecting the Label's styles
while it's at it. Not
only do I have to shrink my images down smaller,
thus providing thumbnails
(which is fine), but I also have to make my
itemWidth and itemHeight a
guestimated amount, which from a design
perspective is frustrating.
Don't get me wrong, if you DO give it some birth,
it looks nice, but you
know designers and their wanting control with the
look of things and all...
Additionally, can the setItem function ... er
rather, the label for an image
default to "" vs. __Reference or
whatever it's saying if I don't provide a
label in my dataprovider?
Also, if you put smaller itemWidth and heights in,
and set it to 100% width
and height, man... FlexBuilder randomly goes
awol. I managed to crash it
doing that 3 times in the past 20 minutes.
After hitting 500megs and
starting to eat my page file, I kill the process.
Finally... should I add all of that to the
wishlist?
