------=_NextPart_000_0059_01C41B51.12443F60 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Libby, Here's one use case - we're selling Flex to a client as an executive dashboard, for the display of reports, charts etc. When we showed them the kind of thing they could get, one of their first questions was whether the reports/charts could be automatically updated "live", from server data. Obviously, we could write the client to poll for updates, but that increases the network traffic - some form of remote shared object that can be updated from our server side Java or .NET business logic would be a great sell. Use cases, friends, use cases! It's definitely a feature we'll be investigating but I'd love to hear as many specific use cases as possible. l. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- From: Steven Webster [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, April 04, 2004 1:57 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [flexcoders] Flex Needs Remote Shared Objects! I'll second this ... and more importantly, the ability to drive the "push" from the server-side application (which Flash Comm doesn't support directly). I guess this is quite a big ask though...
