This is more of a "how to filter the dataProvider" question than a question regarding Sliders. Sliders are simply a data input control just like a NumericStepper, ComboBox, TextInput, etc.
What you'll need to do is to modify the filter function in ThumbnailView.mxml to work with a couple of extra parameters.
