Douglas,

There are 685 pages of docs here:

In Chapter 20 of the book, also available as a free PDF download here,
you will see how an application using the same design patterns (largely)
as Cairngorm, is constructed, from requirements all the way through to
delivery.

Can I suggest that you work through that application, until you are
happy that you understand it ?

In seriousness, don't persevere with Cairngorm or any other application
framework for that matter, until you're happy you've got a good grasp of
how to build prototype applications with the technology, that don't
require an application infrastructure like Cairngorm.

Good luck,

Steven
