I experienced the same type of problem with my application. At the load time if I start randomly click UI submit buttons the browser crash completely and the app server log doesn't record any error... I believe that is something related with the Flash Player.... didn't have time to investigate more.. :(
BTW: Is there any document to specify the minimal system requirements necessary for using Flex optimally?.
