One way to do it is to call a _javascript_ function in the
HTML wrapper that changes the page's title. You call this from Flex with the
fscommand ActionScript method. Here's part of a quick example that
works with IE browsers:
In a _javascript_/VBScript block in your HTML
page:
function myMovie_DoFSCommand(com, newTitle)
{
if (com=="changeTitle") {
if (com=="changeTitle") {
document.title=newTitle; // this works with IE only
}
}
}
In a script block in your MXML file:
function callWrapper() {
fscommand("changeTitle", appName);
}
I'll leave it to you to set the value of appName based on
the current tab and then call the callWrapper() method.
You might have to monkey around with a custom wrapper to
rename your movie (to match the prefix in the _javascript_ fscommand handler), but
it should work.

It should work if you have the `pageTitle` property of the Application
tag set.
<mx:Application pageTitle="My Flex App" ...
