David -- The 'element' field of the HitData structure is the series object that generated the mouse event. That's why you're seeing all the same properties (xField, yField, etc) that you assigned to the series objects of your chart. If the green section is clicked, it will contain "0"; if yellow, "1", etc. hitData.element.xField contains the name of the property that corresponds to the section clicked.
