I am now very sure that you are using Flex 1.0, you are not using Flex
1.5

Please make sure by looking at JRUN console message, it must say Flex
version. Or you can look at "WEB-INF\flex\logs\flex.log"

Sure - here you go! I was just playing around with a MM Tutorial, and
am getting errors a little too early in the game for my own taste...
Please be aware of word-wrap, I don't know if this list-serve wraps
posts, if you were to literally paste this code into the IDE... Thanks
in advance :) Mike

Hi,

Can you please post complete code or testable code?

I don't see any reason that you should get this error. Which version of
Flex you are using?

Subject: [flexcoders] Problems using percentage in Width property for
container...

I am terribly confused, especially since FlexBuilder 1.5 docs go out
their way, to say that the old widthFlex and heightFlex properties are
deprecated.

According to the docs, I just use Width and Height - and stick the
percentage number in there. I am getting errors during compilation, and
this is a Macromedia tutorial - which is kind of surprising.

According to the Docs it says: "This property has been deprecated. For
flexible widths, please set width to a percentage value."

But when I try doing this, using this particular code:

        <mx:ViewStack id="vStack" width="80%"
height="100%"></mx:ViewStack>

I get "Failed to parse number: 80%" and "Failed to parse number: 100%"
when the application compiles.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Mike
