No, that should have no effect here... certainly not the source of that error message. I'm sorry, I can't reproduce this error.

David, I copied and pasted the code in this email exactly as written and it runs fine for me. What version of Flex are you using? I tried it with 1.5.

I try to use the chart examples furnished by Macromedia unsuccessfully.
I have always recieved the same error message for each chart examples :
