[flexcoders] persisting data

Aside from a database, is there a good way to persist data? For example, storing it in a file? I initially wanted to store information in an XML file, but I’m finding that manipulating and storing that data actually requires a lot more work than I had anticipated. All I really want to store is a URL and a name. A list of key/value pairs would work fine so long as there are no rules for the key…   Thoughts?   Thanks,   Drew Falkman Yahoo!
