Hey guys, As a Java programmer I'm an IntelliJ guy. As a text/xml/html editor, I'm a Textmate guy. I *loathe* the text editing in Eclipse. Here's what really annoys me, does anybody know the solutions to these?
* When you do anything at all (search, look for a class with cmd-shift-t and then close it, etc) Eclipse puts the focus in any window it feels like except the code you were editing a second ago * Eclipse loves tabs. If there's a "convert tabs to spaces" command I can't find it. Even when you tell it to use spaces, it'll use tabs when you indent more than one line at a time. * Eclipse won't shift-tab properly. Sometimes I just want to shift-tab a block of text until all indents are gone, but Eclipse just won't play ball. * There must be a way to navigate left-and-right in the editor(document) tabs via the keyboard. Any time I figure something out, it'll stop when it comes to an edior with a design view. * How do I kill design view for anything except MXML? I don't ever want to see Eclipse's idea of a visual editor for WSDLs, XSDs, XML, or ant files. Any tips on these things would put a big smile on my face :) Cheers, -Josh -- "Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls.
