I said the exact opposite in fact. The tooltips are only being triggered when the text in the column with the item renderer is truncated. So if the text fits in the column then there is no tooltip when I roll over it but when it is truncated the tooltip is displayed. I can't for the life of me determine why this is the case. I want to custom tooltip to render all the time so I need to determine what is stopping the tooltip from being triggered in the cases where the text in the datagrid is not truncated.
