I have mostly had control of the server in my apps so have been able to avoid most of the namespace headaches. I have a webservice example on www.cflex.net <http://www.cflex.net/> that shows how to declare a default namespace, but that is not your issue.
I suggest google. I recall several regular contributors on this list have written extensively on namespaces.
