Hi John, It's good to see someone so enthusiastic about Flex, but my advice would be to take several steps back rather than attempt to build such a complex site as a first project.
I think it would be best to try and build a one or two page site and then expand from that. It may also be a good opportunity to reconsider what core messages that you may wish to promote about your business so that the site has a clear focus.
