Just a thought (though not an answer), it might be a better idea if within your custom tooltip component you evaluated the space needed by your tooltip compared to the space between your cursor and the side of the stage, then move the tooltip accordingly. That way you're taken care of regardless of the position or size of your tilelist or the items inside the tilelist. Hope that's relevant.
