I just started with with the Adobe AIR HTML component this week. I hadn't noticed the memory leak, but of course I'm actively in development. I'll have a look at it today to see if it's happening to me as well. Also, mx:HTML is a Flex wrapper for HTMLLoader, I wonder if the same memory leak occurs when you just a straight HTMLLoader?
I also voted on the bug, since this is something that should be looked at.
