You can adjust the alignment like this:
<mx:TileList id="monthsTileList"
rowCount="3"
width="100%"
minWidth="200"
columnCount="4"
itemRenderer="com.ms.sow.crt.messages.view.MonthsCheckBox"
direction="horizontal"
textAlign="left"
paddingLeft="8"/>
Or, you can override updateDisplayList in the itemRenderer and position
the checkBox's manually.
