Title: RE: [flexcoders] Flex Newbies Mail List
Over the weekend I took a look at MSN and Google's Group features (since people complain that search is a big issue with yahoo's groups). I don't mind putting in the work to support a FlexNewbies list, I like the concept, and I know a lot of people feel nervous to posting simple questions to a list as that group matures. But the more I thought about it, I don't think the Flex community is quite there yet.

These Flash groups are pretty huge and has the critical mass to support specific contexts. So in my opinion a bit more time is needed before the Flex community grows to a point that you can have the critical mass to support a group for Flex-Newbies, Coldfusion-Flexers, etc...

tidbit: FlexCoders is at 1875 members.

I answered a little less than 98% of all inquiries when flexcoders started :-)  We seem to be doing pretty well.  I haven't been able to answer questions all week but most folks seem to be surviving.  With that said, if things like the FAQ aren't stressed we could be in for a long road ahead, but I'd be in support of a forum where newbies can feel more comfortable if flexcoders isn't it.

Not sure I agree with you folks. FlashNewbie list only seemed to work
cause Jesse answered 98% of all inquiries. ;-)
