You have to add a <constraintcolumns> and/or <constraintrows> block and then identify individual constraint column and/or rows (give them an id). You can then tie elements to those constraints but you're still using top, left, bottom, etc. and then the number of pixels away separated by a colon, it's just that you're not limited to the parent containers borders.
