I think if advertising is a priority, you could let flex have part of the html page and serve ads there, either under control of the flex application, using javascript, or just independently with javascript, with or without an iframe. I think a bit of imagination is required.
I think most flex developers make money from things that are useful for something rather than advertising bling. Paul
