hi all! as i mentioned in my subject,how can i get the width of a string? when i use a datagrid control and the text in a cell is too long to be fully displayed,the text should be cut off,and then add a "..." at the end of the substring.further more,while the width of the column is changing,the substring adjusts its length to the cell. so,i think the key is to get the width of the string...it there any solution? i found a method named "calculateWidths" in flex reference,but it seems to be a internal method.how can i use it?
