This is what I am doing already.

If I would ask my question differently it would be :
Is it possible to change cellRenderers on the fly, switching from cellRendererA to cellRendererB ?
Quite tricky question ;))

The thing is that your AS cellRenderer code needs to get compiled into
your application. Instead of assigning a String to the column's
cellRenderer property make sure you're passing in the class itself, i.e.

myDataGrid.getColumnAt(0).cellRenderer = name.of.your.CellRenderer;

Dirk.
