Age shouldn't be a barrier. It's not in my company, as we really try and look 
at the quality of programmer that we hire. We have various ages of programmers, 
and even though some of the younger programmers are 'better' (in my opinion), 
so long as the older ones don't have insane salary requirements and they can 
pull their weight, we can all get along.

Salary should be related to output, not necessarily experience or age. If you 
enjoy it and feel at home with it, there's nothing saying that you couldn't get 
hired; no matter how old you are.
