I appreciate your sincere effort to help, but you misunderstand. AxisRenderer is code in the flex charting library, not my code.
It looks to me as though there is a bug if there is only one data item in the series and hence only one label on the axis. In particular, on line 2187 of AxisRenderer.as (sdk 3.3), lastLabel is set to _labels[1] , which is null if there is only one label, because arrays are indexed starting with 0. If I get time I will try to create a simple test case to verify this.
