What I want to do is simple but I'm a little lost in terms of what to overwrite, so I'm hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. Say I have the following list of countries in my standard Flex ComboBox:
Cameroon Canada Cayman Islands When the user types in "C", I want the "C" in country names to be highlighted (bold) in ComboBox drop-down. If the user types "Ca", then I want "Ca" to be bold in drop-down list of countries and so on. I found a AutoComplete ComboBox on the net that helps with adding text input to ComboBox and matching it against country names in the combo-box, but I'm wondering how I can achieve the highlighting of matched characters in the drop-down. I'm assuming that I need to use item renderers and somehow dynamically change the item renderer taking matched text input into account. Is this true or is there another easier way of achieving this?
