Another curious aspect - as I try to pick apart this problem is that using 
getExplicitOrMeasuredHeight() measures inaccurately for the number of items 
that are in the DataGrid. After I reorder items inside a DataGrid that didn't 
resize correctly I get a correct resize and getExplicitOrMeasuredHeight() 
measures the correct value. Still looking for a workaround ...
